What else goes on in Goa?

Cows beach

Whether you are building a holiday around your visit to our Pool, have a partner or children with you, or have the energy to see the nightlife, here is run down on what goes on locally.

Getting Around

Buses are the cheapest transport, but this does require some local knowledge and hanging around at the bus stops. Taxis, Tukuks and motorbike taxis are all very convenient and cheap.  You can make a regular arrangement with a driver to get a daily pick up and drop off from your accommodation. The only accommodation within walking distance is the Astoria Hotel. Scooters and motorbikes can all be hired, however, unless you are familiar with riding 2 wheelers, may not be worth the effort and risk for short visits. Roads and road rules in India are unique and are at best risky and at worst can be highly dangerous.

Anjuna Flea marketShopping and Markets

Mapusa, is the local market town just 10 minutes over the hill, features a bustling large outdoor market every day and into the evenings, culminating into frenzy, on Fridays.

Mapusa is where you find, ATMs, broadband internet cafes, fruit, gifts, and packed local restaurants serving meals all day for a few euros. Wednesdays is the famous Anjuna Flea Market a must for first time visitors together with the Saturday Night Ingo’s market which features an outdoor stage with music and acts, food and some very interesting artisan stalls.
