Aquanatomy
Anatomy for Aquatic Bodyworkers
Aquanatomy focuses on the anatomy and physiology essential to aquatic bodywork, both surface and subaquatic. A dynamic "hands on" approach features interactive lecture, movement, contact games, and palpation sequences to learn the basics. Time will be divided between land activities and then the direct application of newly acquired knowledge in water sessions, including: finding your optimal stance, support with a minimum of effort, how best to use floats and weights, movement that utilizes the water, reading and understanding the breath, the how and where of grips, and stretching adapted to water.
Alexander taught Anatomy for nine years at the School of Shiatsu and Massage at Harbin. He is the founder of Healing Dance and one of WABA’s senior instructors, leading courses worldwide in Watsu, WaterDance and Healing Dance since 1995.
